There is currently no indication Democrats have a second option if Biden expresses not continuing his run for a second term. Joe Biden is the current Democratic candidate for the 2024 presidential electon. But with Biden’s rating continuing to drop and so many Democrats stating they’re not voting for him this time around, what could the race look like come November?
Well there are a few options,
- He continues on this path and hopes for the best against the Republican candiate.
- After the primaries, when the DNC offers Biden the democratic nomination, he can decline it. His choices if he choose to decline, would be passing it over to VP Kamala Harris who can run. Or the DNC can bring in a whole new candidate.
It also depends if Biden drops out before or after the primaries. If it is before, it gives the DNC more time to choose other candidates.
